Car Insurance HUMMER (Car Insurance). Need Suggestions For First Bike to Buy - Are these ok? - Teen Girl?Need Suggestions For First Bike to Buy - Are these ok? - Teen Girl? Ok so the following two bikes were recommended to me: -Harley Davidson Sportster -Vmax I REALLY like them, however they're both 1200cc I'm only 5"1, weigh about 90 pounds and im 17. Would this be realistic to buy one of those or any other suggestions for bikes with less power but similar looks? Neither one is a good first bike. Ask yourself why ALL the training courses use smaller, lighter bikes. Answer: because they are better for beginners, easier to control and less likely to seriously injure. Yeah, I dont think It would be too hard... I got mine about a year ago when I was 18 and It was a gsxr 750.. I think as long as you think you got it then your fine... But If I were You I would start off with a smaller bike just to be in the safe side... Honestly, both of those would be like learning to drive with a Corvette Z06. I don't know anyone that would suggest learning to drive with a torque-y sports car. Instead, most people would agree that a Civic, Corolla, etc... is the best place to start. Harley sportsters come in a smaller engine size as well and for you it would work fine, the 883 motor comes in the smaller ones and is plenty of power, problem is that almost 100% of firs time riders dri their first bike. good starter bikes that are cheap are things like honda rebel 250, kawi interceptor, ninja 250, etc. also suzuki makes a bike called like a tx250u or something like that. If you want to have a laugh, find out what insurance for either of those two bikes will cost you, as a novice rider. Neither is at all suitable for a beginner. Both will totally overwhelm you with their size and weight, and the V-Max will crush you with its power. Would you learn to drive in a 1,000 horsepower dragster? Maybe you should go for a good starter bike, and worry about "looks" later. You won't "look" good crashing ANY 500 lb-plus bike. If you're interested in "cruiser styling", check out the Honda Rebel 250, or a small Yamaha V-twin. don't consider a 1200 those people are just jerking you....get a 250cc However both are good bikes and you can buy any of them but as it is going to be your first bike thus you need to buy Yamaha YZF-R125. I found, it is one of the best bikes for beginners. Both of those bikes are unsuitable for a first bike. Where are you located? We've got 14 bikes to ride. 90cc up to 1500cc. All Harley and Honda. And a secure storage area to ride around without cars. You will not be the first to test and learn to ride this stable of bikes. You start on the Honda CT90, then 125cc, 250cc, 350cc, and on and on. I bought a car with an Arizona title and was told at the DMV that it's one of the 5 states that require notarization. Nobody will notarize it without the seller being present, and he's being uncooperative about meeting me. I finally got him to plan on meeting me today and he stood me up. So my question is: is there a court order or something to force him to meet me to get the title notarized? I did have both sellers (he and his wife) sign a Bill of Sale along with me, so at least i have proof (besides the signatures on the back of the title) that money was exchanged. car insurance. HUMMER . How to Install a Water Pump in a Lincoln NavigatorInstalling a new water pump in a Lincoln Navigator is a do-it-yourself job, if you have the right tools. You'll also need plenty of space in which to work and lay out parts, a moderate amount of mechanical knowledge and a set of simple instructions for installing the new water pump. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Screwdriver Jack and jack stands Engine support or lift Large container Adjustable wrench Special fan clutch removal tools Shop rags Water pump Gasket Coolant New bolts and studs Torque wrenchDisconnecting the Pump Step by Step : 1 Pop the hood and use a screwdriver to unscrew the clamp that connects the negative battery cable to the battery post. If you can't comfortably work underneath the Lincoln Navigator, then jack up the SUV and use jack stands to secure the vehicle. You may also need an engine support or lift. 2 Open the radiator cap slowly. Remove the drain plug located underneath the radiator with an adjustable wrench. Drain the fluid into a large container and dispose of it properly. 3 Use an adjustable wrench to remove the air cleaner assembly. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and overflow hose from the radiator, position them out of your way. Remove the coolant reservoir hose from the fan shroud. 4 Loosen the fan clutch assembly with the special fan clutch removal tools. Rotate the fan and clutch assembly slowly counterclockwise until they release from the water pump. Place the entire assembly into the hole that the fan shroud came out of and take off the fan clips from the fan shroud, if it has any. 5 Take off the rest of the components in front of the water pump. This includes: mounting bolts and lower radiator hose that still connect the fan and fan assembly, accessory drive belt, engine harness connected to the water pump mounting stud and bypass tube and A/C support bracket bolts. Set the bracket aside. 6 Unbolt and remove the pulley from the water pump. Also, remove the bypass tube form the pump. Take off the underbody splash shield and lower radiator hose still connected to the water pump. 7 Unscrew the bolts on the water pump, taking off the nine bolts and stud bolts. Clean the surface of the mount. Connecting the New Pump Step by Step : 1 Arrange the new gasket onto the water pump. Instead of sealant, use coolant to lubricate your gasket. Hold the gasket in place on the new water pump as you mount the entire assembly on the area where the old pump sat on your Lincoln Navigator. 2 Place the new stud bolts and nuts into the holes in the water pump in a cross configuration beginning with the bottom bolt. Use a torque wrench and tighten with 18 foot pounds of torque. 3 Reassemble the other engine parts in the order they came off the Lincoln Navigator tightening key components with a torque wrench to the proper torque. Replace the radiator's drain plug and refill the radiator with the amount and type of coolant specified in your owner's manual. 4 Remove the engine support and jack stands and release the jack. Attach the negative battery cable to the post and tighten the screw on the clamp. 5 Crank the engine and check for leaks. Then, close the hood and take the Lincoln Navigator for a test drive. Tips & Warnings Raise and lower your Navigator on the jack to access each part during removal. The A/C support bracket bolts require 30 to 41 foot pounds torque and the stud 15 to 22 foot pounds torque. The water pump pulley bolts need 18 foot pounds torque. The fan shroud fasteners need 53 foot pounds torque and the fan clutch assembly bolts require 41 foot pounds torque.
HUMMER . How to Install a Water Pump in a Mercury VillagerYou can prevent one of the major causes of engine overheating in your Mercury Villager with regular leak inspections. This includes checking your water pump. An occasional drip is no cause for alarm, but a drizzle means its time for a replacement. A leaking water pump can cause overheating and major engine damage, so replace it at the first signs of failing. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Drop cloth Screwdriver Jack and jack stands, or tire ramps Resealable container Adjustable wrench 303-D055 strap wrench Crankshaft damper remover Shop rag Chisel Gasket High temperature automotive sealant Water pump Water pump bolts Torque wrench CoolantPreparing the Mercury Villager Step by Step : 1 Place a drop cloth underneath the Mercury Villager to protect the floor or ground from coolant spills. Coolant is toxic so dispose of it properly and wipe up any spills immediately. 2 Designate an area to lay out each part alongside its bolts and connecting hoses and wires. Some of the parts will have traces of grease and coolant, so you may need a drop cloth here, as well. 3 Open the hood and use a screwdriver to unscrew the clamp that connects the negative battery cable to the battery post. Remove the cable. 4 Use a jack to elevate the Mercury Villager and jack stands to support the car. Alternately, drive it up on tire ramps for added convenience. 5 Discharge the pressure in the radiator by slowly opening the radiator cap. Then, remove the cap completely and take out the drain plug located underneath the radiator. Catch the coolant in a resealable container. Removing the Water Pump Step by Step : 1 Lower the vehicle. Use the adjustable wrench to undo the bolts securing the Mercury Villager's radiator hoses, fan shroud, drive belts and water pump pulley. 2 Raise the Villager back up with the jack and jack stands. Remove the inner and outer engine and transmission splash shields, using an adjustable wrench and screwdriver. There will be five bolts and two screws on the inside, four bolts and two screws on the outside. 3 Use the strap wrench to remove the crankshaft and adjustable wrench to remove the crankshaft bolt. Take the pulley off the crankshaft with a crankshaft damper remover. Remove the lower engine front cover. 4 Make a notation on where the six water pump bolts are located. The new bolts will need to correspond with the current configuration. One of these bolts is the stud bolt. Remove the water pump. 5 Remove the gasket, which may be in pieces on both the water pump and the engine. Wipe the pieces away with a clean shop rag, if possible, or scrape them away with the chisel, if needed. Installing the New Pump Step by Step : 1 Position the new gasket onto the Mercury Villager's new water pump. Place a bead of high temperature automotive sealant around the area where you removed the old pump and hold the gasket in place on the new water pump, as you mount the entire assembly on top of the sealant. 2 Tighten the bolts with a torque wrench to 12 to 15 foot pounds torque, using your notes to replace the bolts in the right configuration. Use the strap wrench to replace the water pump pulley, using 12 to 15 foot pounds torque. 3 Install and tighten the engine covers to 27 to 44 foot pounds torque. Use the strap wrench to hold the crankshaft while you tighten its pulley bolt to 90 to 98 foot pounds torque. Install the rest of the parts in the order removed. 4 Replace the radiator's drain plug and refill the radiator with the amount and type of coolant specified in your owner's manual. Move the jack stands and release the jack. 5 Attach the negative battery cable to the post and tighten the screw on the clamp. Crank the engine on the Mercury Villager and check for leaks. Then, close the hood. Tips & Warnings Use a 303-D055 strap wrench to remove the water pump pulley. This tool keeps the pulley still during its removal. *6. Install the new hose, attaching and clamping one end in place before you tackle the other end. Make sure that the hose won't interfere with any moving parts and that the clamps are tight. (The section "Buying and replacing hose clamps" tells you how to install them.) 7. If the coolant that you drained is fairly new and your container was clean, pour the liquid back into the system; otherwise, refill the system with a 50/50 mix of fresh coolant and water. If you're replacing the coolant, see "Keeping coolant out of the mouths of babes and small animals" for instructions on disposing of it safely. 8. Start the engine and add more water and coolant as the level in the radiator drops. Make sure that the parking brake is on and that the car is in Neutral or Park before you start it up. Don't fill the radiator to the top of the neck until the thermostat opens. When you see coolant passing through the radiator tubes and the upper hose is hot, you know that the thermostat has opened. Then it's okay to top off the radiator. 710

If you see leaks or rusty streaks leading away from the core plugs on your engine block, or signs that leaks from them have dried, and you've been losing liquid lately, you may need to have the core plugs replaced. Your best bet is to seek professional help on this one. If replacing them is a high-ticket item, get a second opinion. Internal leaks Sometimes a leak right under the cylinder head can be the result of an ill-fitting gasket or the fact that the bolts that hold the cylinder head on the engine block are too loose or too tight. If you try to tighten these bolts Chapter 14: Keeping Your Car from Getting Heartburn !? 1 *7 yourself, you may damage the gasket, so the best thing to do is to get professional help here. If a mechanic only has to tighten the bolts, the cost is minimal. <\V ^"~~~ Even if the gasket needs replacing and you can't do the job yourself, you're still ahead if you go to a professional with a good idea of what's wrong and what it'll take to correct the problem. (Don't tell the technician what to do; ask whether it would be wise to try tightening the bolts instead of replacing the gasket immediately.) HUMMER . If this is the case, usually you'll notice thick, white smoke from the tailpipe and/or engine oil that looks like a mocha milkshake. Also, vehicles with automatic transmissions have a transmission cooler inside the radiator that can leak. When it leaks, coolant mixes with the transmission fluid, making your transmission fluid look like a strawberry milkshake. Both problems require professional help. Leaky u/aterpump Often, a water pump that's about to break down sends out noisy warning signals and then starts to leak before it goes completely. You can check your pump either by shaking the fan belt pulley — when the engine is shut off— to make the pump rattle, or by removing the fan belt that drives the water pump, and running the engine to see whether the noise stops. If it does, the water pump is the noisy culprit. ~ On some overhead cam engines, the water pump is behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt, making inspection difficult. Leave those to a professional. If the pump is leaking in the front where it rotates with the belt, you must replace it (the next section tells you how). If the leak is around the gasket that lies between the water pump and the engine, you may be able to stop it by tightening the bolts that hold the water pump in place. If tightening the bolts doesn't do the job, then you probably need a new pump. Replacing a water pump is a lot easier than fixing one. If a rebuilt or remanufactured pump is available for your vehicle, you may be able to get one for about half the price of a new one. Be sure to ask for a 90-day written guarantee. Because you have to pay labor charges to have the pump installed by a mechanic, if you replace yours yourself, you're still way ahead of the deal whether you buy a rebuilt pump or a new one. !? 1 C Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System If the work seems like too much of a challenge, by all means have a professional do it for you. But call around for prices on a rebuilt water pump first, and bring the rebuilt pump to the mechanic. Make sure that the pump is designed for your vehicle's make, model, and year, comes with a gasket that matches the old one, and has at least a three-month warranty.
